Salatiga Vacation Guide
Salatiga lies between Semarang and Solo. During the Dutch occupation, Salatiga was named the most beautiful city of Central Java.
The beautiful parks are gone now, but the surroundings are still attractive. The city is surrounded by rice fields and rubber forest. The public swimming pool Kalitaman is fed by natural spring water, there are actually fish in the pool. On the west side there’s the lake Rawa Pening. A few kilometers up north, there is the village Kopeng with the cool climate and nice recreational forest. There are still large colonial buildings, most of them are government or military owned.

Today we are continuing our journey to East Java to visit Bromo, then go to Bali to relax there. My friends bought me a ‘blangkon’ (traditional Javanese hat) yesterday in Yogyakarta, I promised them I’d wear it this day, all day long.
