After years of thinking about it, months of talking about it and great diffiuclty persuaded my employers to give me leave I'm finally heading off on my travels. From Sept '08 to March '09 I'm going to be travelling overland, firstly from Quito to Rio and then from Kenya to Jo'burg. This blog will be my attempt to let family and friends keep track of me as I go.

as a tousands travellers also me decided to cross this marvelous continenet... so big that in three months i didnt get inside so much and i tried :)

Left about 8am today, long after the other cars.  They always rush off and leave us because we have the cook who needs to pack away her gear, but our driver (Juan) is the best and knows all the cool short cuts so we usually arrive before the others anyway, and get some exciting sand driving on…
