Gold and precious metal from the pre Columbian Peruvians - Museo de Oro Aug 25, 2008
This museum has its central location in Surco, but also have a new location in Miraflores, in Larcomar, which is very well located and it’s called: Sala Museo “Oro del Peru”
It exhibits over 160 pieces of gold and other precious metals belonging to pre-Columbian civilizations that developed in the north of Peru. In this exhibition, you’d be able to admire the beauty and complexity of pre-Columbian art. However, beyond the luxury and beauty of these pieces of gold and precious metals, you’d be able to obtain an insight of the symbolic an sacred valued they had for the ancient Peru inhabitants. You will enjoy a unique experience and we’ll be in touch with the vision of the universe of these ancient civilizations. Just for you to know: the Gold represented the sweat of the sun and was related to the Masculine. And the silver, represented the tears of the moon and was related to the Feminine. The duality was present. Also, during the tour, you’d be able to see the Sican Room, which exhibits a great selection on the best golden pieces found in the north of the country. The Sala Museo has good facilities for everyone. Well, it's more expensive than the others museums, but totally worth. They provide with audioguides and everything is well explained in all the rooms. Just enjoy it! Part of the Meeting travbuddies :) travel blog |
