Interesting Small Museum in Kochi, Japan area Jun 15, 2013
The Sakamoto Ryoma Memorial Museum has exhibits of the life of this famous Japanese reformer. He was assassinated at age 32 but his influence ended 700 years of rule by feudal lords and led to the unification of Japan under the emperor. There are dioramas, many documents, his personal pistol, and a recreation of the room in which he was assassinated. Although there are some signs in English, the vast majority of the museum has signs that are written only in Japanese. A good tour guide book will be necessary if you are visiting this museum on your own.
