Lazy day. Lin and I had planned on going to town but the doorman, Simon, said there were 6 ships in town so we decided to just veg at the resort. After breakfast all but Lin took a Wave Runner tour. Lindsay, the guide, rode on the first machine, then Steve and Noah, then Krista, then me. At first I…

After my historical walking tour, I met up with Susan, Drew and Julia. It was now about 1:30 p.m. and time to return to the port area from Charlotte Amalie. The taxi ride back took us by various interesting sights including the court complex, an island Wendy's, and a housing block. Have…

We landed, debarked and collected our baggage uneventfully.  I called my sister Laura to let her know we arrived,  she works at The Frenchmans Reef Marriot as an events coordinator.  She left work to come meet us and lead us back to her hotel.  I had reserved a Jeep Liberty…

Ah, the US Virgin Islands, my favorite tropical escape. This is my second visit to the spectacular island of St. Thomas. The last time we visited we took the historic island tour (which was fantastic!) so we didn't feel guilty about hopping on a water taxi headed for St. John. St. John is only 12 m…

Land! I was up on deck to spot the first sight of the Virgin Islands at 8:30 a.m. Off to starboard--Savana Island perhaps. Whatever it was, it was shrouded in mist. I hopped this did not bode ill for weather this day. Soon, I sighted the western tip of St. Thomas to port.   Carnival Glor…

Our first trip beyond the realms (or lack there) of the US. The island is beautiful, and a bit unexpecting. However miserable the encounter at the resort may have been, we absolutely sustained unimaginable excitement under the water. The locals were... Were beyond our belief. Living far below what …

My first driving experience on the left side of the road.  I normally wouldn't consider driving outside of the contential US, but decided I could take it on since it was a small island.  And boy did I get lost a few times, but I just kept driving and eventually got back on track.  Hi…

All I wanted was to go the beach and stay there all day doing nothing.... this is a good place for that! I quickly learned that transportation here sucks! and streets have no names so it is very easy to get lost. So if you dont have a car you loose a lot of time and taxis are not available al…

Thanks again to Spirit airlines having cheap flights, David and I went to St Thomas. We really enjoyed the vacation! Dang, can you say it is expensive though!! We stayed at a really cheap hotel right in downtown area. Which was very nice since it was like 2 blocks from the shopping area. Thanks to the many jewelry shops (over 50), David gave in & bought me a beautiful diamond ring and we got engaged. After that we went snorkeling at Cokki Beach. It was so perfect! We bought some mad liquor too!

My mom and I went on an amazing cruise to the Caribbean for 7 days. St. Maarten was by far my favorite island, it was clean and the people were so friendly. The shopping was AMAZING on the French side of the island. Antigua had the most beautiful beaches and St. Lucia has banana ketchup which is actually really good on French fries!
