Saint Petersburg, locally known as St. Pete, is the largest city in Florida's Pinellas County and makes up a significant component of the Tampa Bay Area, sitting at the entrance of the Bay and the Gulf of Mexico.

The downtown part of the city has a number of bohemians and artists living in it and over the last ten years has undergone a revitalization, with new attractions such as Baywalk and the reintroduction of the city trams, adding to the eclectic mix of mainstay attractions, including the Salvador Dali Museum, Great Explorations children's museum, Florida International Museum, Mahaffey Theater complex, and the landmark Pier, an upsidedown pyramid jutting out into the bay the offers a range of shopping, dining, and entertainment.

St. Petersburg is host to the Tampa Bay Rays professional baseball team at the Tropicana dome. It also supports several univerities, colleges, and branch campuses, including St. Petersburg College, the University of South Florida, the Poynter Institute, and Eckerd College. The St. Petersburg Times is considered to be one of the top periodicals in the country. The city also served as the headquarters for Wikipedia before relocating to San Francisco.

Gulf Coast Beaches are a short ten-minutes drive from the city center, as are notable landmarks, such as the Sunshine Skyway Bridge and the Don Cesar pink castle.
