Expedition to climb Mount Elbrus. We started in St Petersburg, went by plane to Mineralny Vody. From Terskol we started a 10-day hiking trip around Elbrus to climatize, and tried to reach the top afterwards.
We spend 3 more days in Sotsji at the Black Sea coast and went back to Holland

Russia is a country in change. visiting St. Petersburg I found the young people to be willing to embrace change, the older people struggling with the economic challenges. The wealth that once existed was apparent in the palaces,which stood in stark contrast to the current struggles.
