St. Maarten is a tropical island located in the Caribbean Sea. It is unique because the island is divided in half between the French and the Dutch. St. Martin is the French side and St. Maarten is the Dutch side, collectively they are known as St. Martin/St. Maarten. Throughout the island there are signs welcoming you to either the French or the Dutch side.
Sint Maarten, the Dutchside is home to Philipsburg and is known for its nightlife, beaches and casinos. Saint-Martin and its largest town Marigot are known for nude beaches, shopping, cuisine and outdoor markets.

My mom and I went on an amazing cruise to the Caribbean for 7 days. St. Maarten was by far my favorite island, it was clean and the people were so friendly. The shopping was AMAZING on the French side of the island. Antigua had the most beautiful beaches and St. Lucia has banana ketchup which is actually really good on French fries!
