Every year on the first of May in St Andrews, students gather on the beach in the shadow of the ruins of the castle at sun rise. As the sun comes over the horizon, they rush into the icy water of the North Sea. I think it stems back to a pagan ritual, but it's great fun. There's usually barbeques, and the Madrigal Group sing in their gowns. Anyway, here's my pictures from my final year. I went into the water in my first year - never again!

OK you may be asking yourself why have they gone back to St Andrews 24 hours after leaving? The answer is for Fudge Doughnuts!! There is a patisserie and confisserie in St Andrews called Fisher & Donaldson which is on Church Street, between Market Street and South Street. The 4th day of luggage out at 0800, breakfast at 0800 and depart at 0900 had us going across the FORTH ROAD BRIDGE and through FIFE to ST. ANDREWS, famous for its' golf courses. On 25th February, Lorina and I finally went on our first international society excursion to St. Andrew. We had the best weather as usual *being sarcastic*. A 3 week tour of Scotland including Inner/Outer Hebridies and the Highlands - probably one of the best holidays I have ever done - superb scenery great place to visit - something I never did even after living there for 20 years - well worth the wait!

For the Fall Semester of my senior year at the University of South Carolina, I studied abroad at the University of Dundee in Dundee, Scotland. It was my first out of country experience, and a life changing one.

Scotland is a great place to travel around so much to see, it was a fantastic tour. Also see the photos my boyfriend took under DL4PLM.... some I am very sure are the same .... The food for vegetarians was not that great!!
