Definitely Not 5 Star Dec 05, 2009
Voyages has a range of resorts in the same complex ranging from 3 to 5 star. Our travel agent really upsold us but we soon discovered that 5 Star is not always 5 Star and our overall Voyages experience was disappointing. We were originally put into a room with a view of the sewerage water tank, and although I don't usually complain, I had to. So they finally moved us to a room with a view of Uluru. It was ridiculously over priced and a quick stroll around revealed that the accommodation in other parts of the hotel (The Lost Camel or the Desert Garden) were even nicer and half the price. So we felt incredibly ripped off. The food prices were outrageous... Breakfast cost us $32 each plus we had to pay another $4 each for a cup of coffee!! Other than a lovely (but freezing) swimming pool, I could not ever recommend Sails in the Desert.
