Saiko Sushi Coronado Reviews
a great sushi experience May 23, 2015
Saiko Sushi, a popular Coronado eatery, located in the beautiful ferry landing neighborhood.
About the food: traditional nigiri, sashimi and Asian fusion, like a meatloaf with Chinese long beans and wasabi mashed potatoes. They focus on an ecological way of serving sushi by using fish that is locally caught.
Saiko Sushi serves a variety of fish that includes sea bass, yellow tail and tuna. They're known for their rolls. "New-style" rolls that range from the Renegade, a mix of albacore, crab and tempura shrimp topped with black garlic ponzu to the Kilroy, a combo of whitefish, avocado, lobster and asparagus painted with a Szechuan blueberry glaze.
There's also a hot side of the menu, with dishes that include shishito peppers with yuzu salt, wild board tonkatsu with miso mustard. Try Saiko miso (with coconut milk and lemongrass)
Locals and visitors can enjoy their meal with micro brewed sake, craft beer and expertly paired wine. Sit at the bar with one of our chefs or enjoy a gorgeous view of the San Diego skyline from the patio. Come to dine, drink or lounge in a stylish atmosphere in the beautiful ferry landing neighborhood of Coronado.
No one’s suggesting you'll have a 3-star Michelin experience but if you're in Coronado and someone wants sushi, know your options: Saiko
