Decent accomodation in Las Vegas Aug 29, 2009
It's located at the northern part of The Strip so it's a bit isolated. You can always hop on The Deuce, a bus which runs along The Strip frequently.
We were given a smoking room despite the reservation being made 3 months before our arrival, where we were confirmed a non-smoking room. It's definitely an older hotel and its customers are more casual. Go to other casinos for shows for sure. :) But if you don't care much about the lack of ambiance and just want a place to sleep then this is a decent place to crash. |

Good hotel for the price - but ... Jun 21, 2008
Ok, I read reviews from February 07 saying the hotel was under renovation and air conditioning wasn't working. Just got back from 2 night stay 6/18/08 to 6/20/08. Booked online through American Express. Free upgrade on availability.

Do not book over the phone. Management will not honor the rate quoted on the phone unless you have written proof. We stayed at the Sahara from December 15 through 18 and rented two rooms that were suppose to be adjoining (they were not).

Thankfully we didnt have too far to go to get to our hotel but we were soaked in sweat by the time we got there. We had booked into the Sahara Hotel, one of the first Hotels built on the Strip. As we approached it we heard a loud whooshing noise, followed by screaming as a roller… Viva Las Vegas |

next stop the treasure Island hotel which has a Pirate show every evening in fornt of the hotel, pretty cool how the made that. For a good view of Vegas, we took the monorail to the Stratosphere tower and got to the top of it, on the way we stoped at the Sahara hotel wich is right next to the tower and made… Viva Las Vegas |

When we headed I-15 north to the racetrack, I was pretty tense because it was VERY windy that morning and I was concerned that they might cancel the driving school. We weren't sure of the exact address of the Sahara hotel, but figured that, if we got onto Las Vegas Blvd and drove toward the strip, we'd find the hotel no problem. So the GPS took us way north of town.. We pull off the interstate and notice that the lights… First incredible experience of the trip, pushing a van on the Strip |

Our hotel the Sahara had a desert theme, complete with camel statues at the front. The strangest thing of all was the rollercoaster which came shooting out of the casino and across the front of the hotel!! As soon as we got off the bus we were… \'What happens in Vegas STAYS in Vegas\' |
