Safe/Unsafe neighborhoods in Sao Paulo Jun 30, 2012
Hi!Subway is very safe in Sao Paulo and costs about U$1,50 a ride.
Bad things can happen anywhere, but the safest neighborhoods are: Av. Paulista region (Jardins, Consolaçãos); Vila Madalena; Itaim Bibi; Pinheiros; Moema n most of south and west region neighborhoods are fine.
Be careful when you go to the downtown because there are homeless people and drug addicts on the streets. Good for shopping though.
East and North region are medium safe... but there is not much to see there as a tourist.
Anywhere you go, try not to show you have money... like, dont use your ipad in the middle of the street.
Have a good trip
