Sachsenhäuser Warte Frankfurt am Main Reviews
Local specialities in one of the old city gurd towers Feb 25, 2007
The Sachsenhäuser Warte is a restaurant that is located in one of a few old defence towers that are dotted around Frankfurt. Because it is in this historic building the restaurant has a lot of character, especially in the summer when it is nice to sit on the benches outside by torch- and candlelight.
The food is typically German and there are several dishes that are specialities of Frankfurt, such as "Handkäs' mit Musik" or "Grüne Soße". The quality of the food is very good and I found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. Prices are pretty much average, but there are a few dishes that are maybe a bit on the expensive side, compared to the German average.
Overall, it is a very good choice it you're in Frankfurt and would like to try out some of the local specialities in a nice, friendly atmosphere outside. The owener was also expremely competent, helpful and friendly during the organisation phase for our wedding event there so I can only recommend the Sachsenhäuser Warte to anyone who wants German food or local Frankfurt specialities.
