SQUE Rotisserie & Alehouse Singapore Reviews
Lets just walk further down the river for a drink Nov 04, 2012
SQUE to be pronounced "skew" is one of the restaurants under the belt of Emmanuel Stroobant Group. So its supposedly good.
The plus point of this place which could also be a tourist trap is the location. Open air restaurant is facing the Singapore River @ Clarke Quay so lots of tourists would pass by and be enticed to come and have a drink or two (if they were to pass by at its peak period - happy hour).
We came here during Happy Hour for drinks and light meal.
We ordered the seafood platter, spring chicken from the rottiserie, sirloin. It was a Wednesday night so the promotion was wine (2 for the price of 1).
It states there in the menu in bold 2 for the price of 1 and below was listed the range of wines but later when the bill came they said its subject to the wine of the day! This was not stated anywhere in the menu (whether in smaller font or italics) The waitresses/ waiters are all foreigners so they were not able to provide us with a proper explanation; they either dont understand what we are asking or simply giving us stupid answers (this is the problem I find in Singapore restaurants).
The seafood platter and sirloin was ok but the spring chicken was passable. I was disappointed for the place is supposed to be known for rotisserie but the chicken looked so pale and the meat was so dry.
The crowd starts to disappear by 9pm (when the happy hour ends). Bottom line, I would only consider returning for happy hour drinks (only for the beer or mojito night).
