SP Resort

I landed on Koh Phan Gan two days before the full moon and was being turned away by every resort. Exhausted I somehow stumbled on SP resort. I got a bungalow with fan for 300 baht/day. At first I wasn't thrilled to be staying there as it was as basic as it gets. There was bugs in the room, it was a little dingy, and it seemed easy to break into the bungalows. I ended up sticking it out because I had no choice. There was a great array of guests here and everyone was friendly. The owner, Som, was always around and ready to help you out. The food was great and just as affordable as the room. The bungalows are literally right next to the beach with a great, serene view.

The one part of Koh Phan Gan I didn't like was how almost everyone on that island is trying to take as much of your money as possible. The attitude of SP Resort really made up for it and was a really refreshing place to stay for almost no cost. Highly recommended for the budget traveler.
