I stayed with a friend who lives about 40 minutes (on the train) east of London for my first few days. With a day when no archives are open, my friend and I decided to head down to the coast to a town called Rye since the weather was surprisingly nice (though not hot) for England. Rye, England, UK -› Fairlight, England, UK -› ...
Great weekend. Rye, then Fairlight. We had to carry our stuff for 1,5 hour, up and down, up and down the clifs to get to our priceless spot. Once we got there, the reward was waiting - peace, sea, beach and noone else. Then the others arrived with more food and drink, guitar. Bon fire and singing during the night. In the morning: beach to ourselves, sun, swimming in the sea, quick breakfast and hour walk to Hastings for fish'n'chips for a tea.
