affordable airfare for everyone May 24, 2010
If in a hurry to get from one city to another and not taking the eurail, ryanair is a great budget airline to take. Very inexpensive, although the seats arent the most comfortable ones and you do have to pay for any drinks/snacksl. Since the flights arent very long, it is not difficult to withstand some of the inconveniences when you stop and think about all the money you are able to save.

they do charge for extra weight to the baggage and priority seating, but if you have everything well planned out, then you will have a lot more money stay in your pocket.

Generally the way it works with both Ryanair and Easyjet (both discount Airlines) is that as more seats are sold, the price goes up per seat. So in short, unless the flight is empty, last minute tickets won't be as cheap. However if you buy your seat a few weeks in advance, the prices can't be beat. For example I flew from London to Munich return for £50.

Hope this helps

I fly by european low-costs for about 7 years. I am satisfied a lot. The main thing you must do is doing everything on time. If you come to an airport a bit earlier, you will be able to choose best seat.
Also, better to travel without big baggage. Carrying hand lugagge usually is free (except Wizz Air), but check-in baggage costs about 20euros. So, you may pay for bagagge more than fot the ticket ;)
In europe I fly by Easy Jet, Ryanair, Wizz Air and AirBaltic. Their prices are most affordible for me :)
If you have any questions - just go on :)

pay attention to the weight of your bags. that's a big way they get ya. don't excede 15 kilos. or you pay like 5 pounds for every kilo over. sucks balls i can tell ya. but i'm flying into dublin and then taking a ryan air from dublin to frankfurt in october, so its not that bad. we've done easy jet... its... budget ya know. expect budget type of accomodations, but the employees are generally helpful. also like dave said, get the tickets minimum 7 days out or prices go up and i even shoot for 14 days in advance. they fill up quickly what would have been 40 bucks for me to fly to room ended up being 150 'cause we bought with only two days out. lessons learned i guess :)

We bought our tickets in advanced and the flight from Dublin to Nottingham was pretty cheap. The seats are small and they don't serve refreshment, but i guess that is how they provide a better price.
