Tourist attractions in town of Ruse Mar 29, 2016
Town of Ruse is situated in north-east Bulgaria, near the Danube river. It is build near the ancient Roman settlement Sexsaginta Prista. The Roman castle itself arose on the ruins of an ancient Thracian settlement dated II-I century BC. Now it is one of the top 10 biggest cities in Bulgaria. It can be reached by train, on road, or along Danube river on water.
1. The National Museum of Transport.
There is the first railway station in Bulgaria, which was built back in 1864 by William Gladstone and brothers Berkeley, connecting the first rail way with Varna town.
2. The Pantheon of National Revival.
Included in the list of 100 National Tourist Sites and is located on 50th place in it. It was built in 1978 in the Park of National Revival.
3. Regional Historical Museum.
The museum was opened in 1904. In it, visitors can see Thracian treasure from Borovo, European porcelain, costumes, coins and many other things that are collected in the large pool of over 130 000 cultural values. The museum has seven exposures. Three of them are outdoors: Sexsaginta Prista, Ivanovo Rock Churches and Cherven.
