 Construction at the Rubicon! Sep 17, 2008
The scaffolding that covers the entire front made the hostel feel unsafe. One workman barged into our room to fix the radiator, when he noticed that we were in bed he still tried to come in and fix the radiator! We had to yell at him to leave. The next day he barged in again (this time we were not in bed) carrying a tool for the radiator and an ice cream. We moved elsewhere.
This is place that is a hostel that wants to be a hotel. As such it's making various improvements to get the stars. Things may have changed since we stayed there. We found one member of staff to be extremely helpful and friendly, and another to be downright rude. The room itself was clean and comfortable, however our stay was hampered with other problems and so we were disappointed.  Part of the flip flop travel blog
