Royal Palace Bijapur Reviews
Dec 02, 2005
This was the only restaurant that we could find in town that had a menu. Eveywhere else just did "meals", by which they meant thalis. Actually, we were happy to have a "meal" for lunch, but in the evening we preferred to have a choice of what we were getting.
The Royal Palace is located in the centre of town, just to the south-west of the market. It has quite a wide-ranging menu (I think that it might have even had some "Chinese" dishes on the menu, but we didn't try them). The food is a little salty, but the paneer is very good indeed, and the food generally very tasty.
To add to the fun of going to this place, the owner treated us like celebrities, particularly on our second and subsequent visits. When we divulged that we were leaving the next day, he disappeared and then came back with a hastily-concoted visitors' book, written in the back page of a notebook that they must have had lying around.
