Haw Kham Royal Palace Museum Dec 21, 2013
The area is quite beautiful as this is also near Mount Phousi which you can check out right after. The Buddhist temple next to the museum is beautiful too. The museum is where the last king of Laos lived. The inside of the museum houses collections of gifts from other countries that were given to the royal family. There is also this pond full of fishes that you can feed. Not sure what kind of fish they are put I have posted a picture of the fishes, as you can check out pictures of the museum and buddhist temple from other reviewers. I would recommend checking this place.

Beautiful history Nov 14, 2011
This beautiful former palace houses many artifacts important to Laos history. The murals on the wall are stunning and so detailed, you could spend an hour alone looking at them!

There are large drums and other instruments, and plenty of statues to look at. Plenty of paintings too, and legends printed on the walls... I especially liked the story of the Princess who wanted so many wishes - I can't remember them all but they were pretty vain, like having pert boobs (like lotus flowers) and not to get fat when she was pregnant! Hope she got her wishes!

There are lockers for your bags (fairly cheap) and no pictures, and no shoes. Leave your shoes in the shade cos it gets mighty hot around here!

The gardens surrounding the Palace are stunning, and some of the outer buildings house concerts during the year.
