Royal Orchid Tumon Reviews
Royal Orchid run-of-the-mill for Guam but worth it Mar 25, 2014
Royal Orchid Guam is a convenient request for an online booking. For a brief one night stay, I had some difficulties locating the actual hotel itself since the outside sign was deceptive in advertising its front desk, in which I found was on the third or forth floor. The front sign is more of an entrance to the many eateries, gift and accessory shops. I found myself somewhat lost in locating it, wandering in many different directions until I found it.
It is located along the Hotel strip, adjacent to many others like it but taller and more prestigious in name. A small stroll from Royal Orchid will lead you downtown, (which is sprawling with Night life) and is across the street to the Tumon Bay Reserve. Rooms were clean and beds were comfortable. The bathroom was very spacious and its accessories were efficient, though the shower leaked into the rest of the bathroom. The pool service wasn't anything fancy but appeared clean and ready for use. They could have at least decorated the pool area, even to appeal to travelers with low demands such as myself. The pool area felt like a giant prison cell was surrounding it.
Overall, it is still a worth-while recommendation. Royal Orchid is a reminder that you don't visit Guam just to stay in a Hotel, but to rest at night and enjoy the Tumon city itself during the day!
