World Heritage Site in Liverpool May 31, 2014
I live just outside of Liverpool, so as a lot of you may realize if you live right by a historic building or a piece of art you tend not to pay much attention to it, i for the first time went and had a walk around the liver building along with the 2 buildings at the side of it the Cunard building and the port of Liverpool building, the is so much history that has been created in these buildings such as registering the titanic to trading to every part of the world. back in the day this made Liverpool the super power of the trade world, not to mention that the architecture on the 3 buildings is out of this world and the liver building actually has the biggest clock face in all of Britain. It is right on the waterfront right by the peirhead where you have some breathtaking scenery over the river mersey you can see birkenhead on the other side which is where they used to build all the mighty ships of the day. It is also free to get in but you can only go into the lobby area as the building is used mainly for offices and trading, even so you can see the amount of detail inside the building that was built in 1911. The building is a symbol for the city mainly with the famous liver birds on the top of each side of the building and Liverpool football club even has the famous liver bird on the front of the jersey. To this day it is still a world heritage site which pours tourists in there millions annually if you want to know any more about it or the city of Liverpool please don't hesitate to ask!!!
