Royal Decameron Puerto Vallarta Hotel Bucerias

The hotel is very welcoming and colourful! I went with the All Inclusive option. At least four pools, one of which is for adults only so no screaming children! Over seven bars and multiple places to eat. They some higher class Resteraunts that you need to make reservations for the day before you want to eat there. Each showcase a different cuisine. Italian seemed most popular as it took me four days before I was able to reserve a table there. Personally I preferred the Brazilian one...just stay away from the waiter Jorge ("George of the Jungle") He was too weird! There is a little theater, where they put on dance shows every night. They are cute and fun! The little discoteque is basically a place to drink after all the bars close in the hotel. Nothing but techno music, which is ok....

My only complaint is the customer service desk! The way my flight was scheduled I ended up needing the hotel for an extra night. When I checked in I was told they were booked up. Not a problem. The next day I stopped by and asked if they would be able to help me find a room at another hotel. They told not to worry because they would be able to give me a room. Just come back the next day to square everything away. So next day I come back. Apparently the person I talked to was wrong and they didn't have a room. Could they help find a room, no. But I could pay to use the internet and book a room online. Frustrated I left. Came back the next day, to speak to someone else. Can you help me find a room. Oh we have one available, come back in five minutes....etc etc etc. So Last Day I am checking out because I don't have a room, my friend from NC has checked out at 400am that morning to catch her plane. I call for someone to help with bags....nothing. So I carry my bags down 4 flights of stairs, go to check out and they give me a freaking room...

So all in all the bartenders rock, the maid service is great, the waiters in each and every food place are attentive sweet and quick. Just don't need anything from the customer service desk!

Its a little out of the way from PVR being in the little fishing village of Bucerias, but it is worth the extra cab money. It is far enough away that if all you want to do is relax you can but close enough that it is a $15-30 USD(depends on the cabbie) to go into town. Or you can hop the bus for a dollar and hoof it a little bit.
