Royal Canadian Mint ... Go see how coins are made!! Jul 27, 2008
On Canada Day (July 1st of each year) in Ottawa, a tour of the Royal Canadian Mint is open to the puplic for free. Canada's capital has many places open to the public and on this day Ottawa promotes various sights such as the Royal Canadian Mint at a low or no cost ... an excellent way to take in many places with your family and friends and save that extra dollar to buy precious coin sets available to everyone at the Mint.

If you have never seen coins being minted, then this will be an adventure worth going to ... It's right in downtown Ottawa, the Mint along with Parliament, Cathedral, War Memorial, Ottawa Canal, and Malls, etc. within walking distance of each other.

The children will love it on Canada Day; balloons, face painting, crafts, and carvings to see ... Bring the family to the mint and see just how all your 'coin' is made!!!

For any avid coin collector, this is a sure place to go. Even if you're not, it's worth the visit to see the process of coin-making. This mint is actually only used to make collectors coins. The mint is Winnipeg is the one to go to in order to see millions of coins made per day. The experience is still great and moderately priced, although you will be stuck with fairly large tour groups no matter what time of year you go.
