Free and superb... talk about hitting the jackpot! Oct 29, 2012
Hendon.... the suburb of London is famous for this very precious attraction, the Royal Air Force Museum. As with most museums in and around London, it's free entries and only some temporary exhibitions and the 4D ride are paid.

The museum is divided into 5 sections: Milestones of Flight, The Bomber Hall, Historic Hangars, The Battle of Britain Hall and The Grahame-White Factory. Frankly, to say one is better than the other would be unfair as each was incredible in its own way.

My favourite was a timeline of aviation, which included the year the first female pilot flew and a diagram of United's first few flights!

If naything, one of my big regrets about visiting this place was that I didn't spend long enough. There's a lot to be seen in those 5 big buildings, particularly the final 2 near the canteen that have various exhibits of paintings and memerobilia of the army.

All in all, I'd highly highly recommend this place... amazing does it!

Most likely the most amazing aviation museum in the world, RAF museum Hendon gives you everything you need.

Battle of Britain Hall, Bomber Command hall, they got it all, even a Hawker Typhoon and a Halifax wreck!
