Rougail Mangue Vincendo Reviews
Southern Bliss Oct 11, 2011
An ideal B&B arrangement along Reunion’s southern shores. The Rougail Mangue offers a pair of dorms (we had the larger one, which sleeps up to six, capacity of the other is four) with shared bathroom facilities and two additional doubles featuring en suite bathroom. All the rooms are situated on the ground floor of a residence and empty into a large communal room with another lounge area adjoining. Everything is decorated with funky knick-knacks that lend a laid back atmosphere to the place.
But the real allure lies beyond the rooms. There is a gazebo area housing a complete kitchen where you can prepare your own meals and a delightful palm-shrouded pool looking towards the sea. Cosimo’s significant other (Cosimo, an Italian, is the owner) showed us where the “key” was for the pool – there is a concealed magnetic pin you need to wave over a poolside device to disarm an alarm. If you jump in the pool without performing this trick you get blared.
Everything was clean and tidy. This was particularly impressive since I’m sure it must be a drag maintaining a kitchen where vacationing guests might not be so inclined to clean up after themselves. Better yet, they will provide breakfast for five euro, but coffee and tea are complimentary if you take it upon yourself to fire up the pot or heat some water. The grounds are lovely and Rougail Mangue is a super option if you need to hang out along Reunion’s southern coast.
Cosimo doesn't speak much English, but strives to do whatever he can to make you feel at home and convey some southern bliss on Reunion!
