Rottnest Island Vacation Guide
Rottnest Island or "Rotto" is a popular holiday and weekend destination for Western Australians located just 18km from the mainland, next to Perth.
It has been inhabited by Aboriginal people for approximately 30000 years.
With no private vehicles allowed on the island it is a paradise for cyclists and hikers, but also for anglers and surfers. Buses are available to hop from location to location along the road that circles around this 19km2 island.
Clear waters make it a popular diving destination and this reserve is known for its famous marsupial inhabitants: the Quokkas.
Rottnest island is generally accessed by ferry from Perth, Fremantle or Hillarys but it is also possible to fly there on a light aircraft. The main settlement is Thompson Bay where accommodation can be found as well as bicycle hire facilities. School holidays are extremely busy and may require bookings to be made one year in advance.

Perth, Australia -› Coral Bay, Australia -› …
My mum wanted to travel the west coast of australia for her 50th birthday. So, as expected we decided to pack our bags and jet oursleves over to the ningaloo reef/ coral bay for a weeks getaway. We swam with manta rays and had crystal clear water on our doorstep. We then made our way south towards Perth and made a necessary stopover onto Rottnest Island.. An amazing trip
Sorry for the Lack of photos also... I was reliant on my mothers camera until I invested in one of my own recently...
