On the 12th I dorned my backpack, which seemed to have gained another
few pounds from just standing in the London flat, and made my way to
Heathrow, optimistically buying a one way ticket to the tube. Razwana
came with me to keep me company, and without her I think I would have
sat down and cried like a lost child at some point. When we arrived in
Heathrow Terminal 4 everything was chaos, the parkinglot was full of
desperate people and patient yellow-vested staff. They would only let
p...

i took a day trip to roskilde, which is just west of copenhagen to visit the viking museum. roskilde used to be a very important port in denmark, and during an attack they scuttled five viking ships of various sizes in the middle of the harbor to force an attacking fleet to land farther up the coast. all five of these ships have been recovered and partially reconstructed in some cases. one ship was 30m in length, and i believe they said it was the largest viking ship ever found.back in copen...

In the summer of 2004 a group of friends from Iceland, US, Germany and Denmark traveled together in Denmark for about 2 weeks. We had a great time and traveled from one end of Denmark to the other - Denmark is not really a large country..! Through these pictures, I hope you can see that Denmark is worth a visit! It is a very beautiful country (and I am only a little biased..!).

On our last full day as tourists in Denmark, we made the trip to Roskilde to see another UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Roskilde Cathedral, and the Viking museum. Much like yesterday, it was extremely windy while we were in Roskilde and it was a bit chilly, but both places we were going allowed us to spend time inside out of the wind. The Viking museum had several recreated Viking ships outside and more inside that were dug out of a fjord several years ago. The Domkirke was...

We didn't go to the famous week long music festival here, it was a month earlier.
Marit and Jacob took us on a day trip to the Viking museum in Roskilde (a short trip at 20mins from Copenhagen - they had never been there!!). Best to check the pics for this one.

My crazy days doing Textile Design in Copenhagen this past summer 2007. We first arrived in Copenhagen on July 3rd we stayed until August 20th. A couple of my friends from Brooklyn, NY shared an apartment on one of the five man-made lakes in Copenhagen. We went on a two week study tour through Stockholm and then Helsinki. Stockholm's old city was amazingly and rapturing. Helsinki was my favorite city, warm friendly people. The city felt small and welcoming, I would live there!

Roskilde festival, a wery nice place to go if you want to relax, party and listen to good music. I think there is something for everybody! this year (07) it was quite rainy, so i would recomend anyone to bring raincoats and boots. the facilities is good, showers are clean, but the toilets look like every festival toilet. remember to visit København when you are there, the tivoli is great!I hope to be there for the summer also.

About twenty Danish students came to my school for a week and stayed with students' families. About 12 students, including me, then traveled to Haslev, Denmark to stay with their families for a week and take day trips as a class. (And party).
