Rose Gardens Te Awamutu Reviews
An amazing variety of beautiful roses Nov 20, 2010
Te Awamutu Rose Gardens are a must see for everyone delighted in precious roses and an idyllic place to visit for everyone interested in taking a well-deserved rest anyway!
Te Awamutu is New Zealand's rose capital thanks to its rose gardens featuring a variety of more than fifty different roses.
The gardens, established in the late 1960's, attract thousands of visitors from the whole country and beyond every year, especially from November to April. International high prestige has been enhancing ever since the first days. And does it surprise anyone?
The gardens, situated nearby the well-visited tourist visitor centre and Selwyn Park in town, are definitely a spot where a restless soul can find some peace.
For about six months a wide range of inspiring colours from silky orange to deep red, from bright yellow to dark purple, and slightly sweetish fragrances can be appreciated among numerous rose bushes.
Just stroll around or even take a picnic basket with you and sit down besides the fountain to enjoy a fuzz-free time surrounded by 'Hans Christian Andersen', 'Moody Blues', 'Hot Chocolate' and Co. What neatly named roses, really liked discovering all those name tags, interesting indeed.
Stopping at the Rose Gardens is always worthwhile whenever passing Te Awamutu.
