Roppongi Hills Aug 14, 2007
Roppongi Hills is one of my favorite spots in Tokyo! Now, if you know it very well you're probably wondering how I could afford to set my foot on this expensive shopping and entertainment area of Tokyo or even just mention the name. Well my dear friend, it is not off-limits to poor people like me and I can still enjoy the place without having to shop anything which is good news huh! So if you're on a budget and you're in Tokyo, never ignore the idea of dropping by at Roppongi Hills, just hop on the subway (take Hibiya or Oedo line) and enjoy!
Here are the popular attractions: * Mori Tower If you want to get a panoramic view of the city (aside from the Tokyo Tower), this high-rise building offers you exactly what you need. Located on the top floors of the Mori Tower, you can enjoy The Tokyo City View and also additional attractions like the Mori Art Museum and the Sky Aquarium. You can get a ticket for all these three and I recommend bringing a student ID with you for a very good discount which was a genius idea of mine considering I last went to my university 3 yrs ago when I used it here. Mori Tower also offers loads of stores and restaurants while the rest of the building are used for offices. * Mori Garden Just outside the Mori Tower is a traditional Japanese garden where you can relax and escape the city for a while. No admission of course! * TV Asahi Headquarters One of the biggest TV networks in Japan, TV Asahi has it's headquarters located in Roppongi Hills. The six-floor open atrium is open to the public and has stores selling TV Asahi shows merchandise like the one I found with loads of cute and huggable Doraemon stuff. No admission but I only stayed on the first floor because I didn't know how to get to the other floors and there was a police who I think was eyeing on me (or just security, who knows!). * Shopping and Dining There are loads of very expensive shops in Roppongi Hills if that's what you are looking for. The Hillside I recommend for you to try and also Westwalk where I had my fairly good and very late lunch for a good price. Westwalk has a lot of fashionable and trendy shops as well as restaurants. There are too many to choose from in Roppongi Hills if you're as indecisive as me, you'll be problematic! Aside from shops and restaurants, you can also find some really modern and hi-tech cinemas around the complex. There are so many things to do in Roppongi Hills that you can spend days in this part of Tokyo, but only if you are rich so I only spent a good 4 hours there! Enjoy! Nightlife and more Apr 19, 2009
I was in Roppongi just the other week, I LOVED IT! Went to the Mori Tower and went in the museum (What an experience) wound up in a 4 story club (Club Feria...3000Yen cover Charge, 1000Yen for a jack and Coke, I think it was like 900Yen for a Budweiser)...I wound up leaving at like 6am...lol
But all and all, what a wonderful city! Great Shopping, and Awesome Nightlife. |

After our expensive toast and coffee breakfast at Jonathan's, we somehow managed to figure out how to get to Roppongi hills through all the confusion and chaos of the Tokyo subway system. Roppongi Hills is one of the most visible buildings of the Tokyo skyline. We had noticed it immediately when we were at the lookout point in the Tokyo tower and had heard… Exploring Tokyo |

In short, like a magic act, it takes much speaking of magic words, waving of one's hands and arms, goodwill to pull rabbits from your hat, and an anthill of small ladies clopping about to turn dollars into yen.

By the time we left Starbucks it had cooled down a bit and we made our way to Roppongi Hills to meet an old friend of mine and her mother. Roppongi Hills is a very ritzy area with lots of expensive hotels and shops like Harrods, Hugo Boss, Tiffany & co etc. Again, full of westerners (including me and Andy!)
We had dinner… Getting a bit desperate |

Today was the start of the weekend, so after a quick English breakfast at the hostel I made for Roppongi, and in particular, Roppongi Hills. Figuring that this huge shopping mall complex would be busy, I would have some ample people watching time. My visit to Roppongi would also gve me the chance to visit Mori Tower, for some spectacular views of the city, and I'd picked… Day 4 - The Art Of Walking Half Way Across Tokyo Drunk |

Roppongi Hills. It's another great way to get a city view of Tokyo aside from Tokyo Tower. I bough a ticket for the observation deck that also included the Mori Arts Museum and the Sky Aquarium. I got a good discount for using… my quite ridiculous and very ambitious plan in tokyo was.. |
