Delicious cantonese food and cheap Jun 02, 2012
Karena and I had dinner with 2 local travbuddies, Jenny (jen_yeosc) and Helen (Whereshelen). After discussing what to eat, Jenny suggested to go here.
The restaurant is in 2 parts. The kitchen area is on the side, where the shops are located and the seating area is in the middle of the wide corrider in between the shops. The place has plenty of seats and tables, but is pretty open.
When we sat down, the waitress was pretty quick with handing the menus. But when we were eating and wanted refills on our drinks or order new drinks, she or her colleagues seemed to have vanished or overlooked us. We even had to ask twice when one of the drinks was coming.
The food itself was really good. They had a varied and big menu and prices were cheap. We ordered several dishes, including my favorite: char siew pao (BBQ pork bun). Other dishes were dumplings, fried rice and a seafood porridge.
Overall, we had a great dinner with good food and lots of laughs and the waiting for the drinks was just a minor issue. For the rest the staff was decent. And for about 10 euro (around 11,50 US dollars) per person, it was cheap too.
One note: when you get the bill, you will see that they charge you for the wet towels and something called titbits. That's cold, sliced & fried pork. It's served when you sit down and not free. They charge it, even if you don't eat it.
Part of the list Where to eat in Malaysia
