We opted for the 48 hour ticket for €40 each which enabled us to use the bus for 2 days to get around the city.
You get a pair of earphones to plug in and hear the commentary (in 6 different languages) on your journey around the city. The bus stops relatively close to all the major tourist stops and you get a great view from the top as compared to ground level. As there is only one line the bus follows, I would opt for the 24 hour ticket next time as when we discovered the metro we used that instead.
