Roma Hotel Prague Reviews
Clean, Comfortable, Modest Accomodations Oct 23, 2009
Hotel Roma is located in a quieter area of Prague (Mala Strana or Lesser Town), across the St. Charles Bridge from the Old Town, on the same side of the city as the castle quarter. The location is great for setting out on foot to explore the city and the tram stop almost in front of the hotel is very convenient, too. It is a smaller hotel. I think that the property is very well run and well maintained.
We arrived well before our scheduled check-in time, so we were ushered to a luggage/bag room where we could leave our belongings while we explored the city awaiting check-in time. It was secure.
When check-in time rolled around, we returned to the hotel and went upstairs to the room. We had a room on the third floor with windows looking out onto the street below. The bellhop brought our things up quickly. The room was standard, and while modest, comfortable. It was not large nor small. The bed was extremely firm, which I like. The bathroom was very clean. This is not a luxury hotel, but it is very clean, well-kept and comfortable. It is a nice hotel in which to spend a few nights.
Breakfast was included with our stay. I thought that the options covered just about any dietary need. The food was good, not exceptional, but of sufficient quality.
The lobby/reception area also has a bar and another section with t.v. and some couches where guests can unwind or come and rest a bit before hitting the unforgiving cobblestone streets and sidewalks again. Again, this area of the hotel is very comfortable and it's a nice place to relax and rest.
The service is what sets this 4 star hotel apart from others. The concierge was extremely accomodating and attentive. The staff, too, were very helpful and attentive. They went out of their way to ensure that our special needs (like a 5:30am breakfast on check-out day) were met. They work long hours, but keep their smiles and pleasant attitudes.
We enjoyed our stay here and would recommend this property to anyone travelling through Prague. I also think it's a great value.
