Roly's Restaurant & Cafe Dublin Reviews
Somewhat pricey, but outstanding food Jun 11, 2011
During the Dublin meetup, me and other TBs had lunch at Roly's, located in the beautiful Ballsbridge area of town. When you walk in, you'll see baked goods behind class and a counter from where you can order take out food. But we were here to sit down and eat. And since the first floor was full, we trekked upstairs to get a longer table on the second floor.
Roly's has an early bird, three-course meal deal for 22.95 euro. Yikes! That's like $32 USD, certainly not a pocket pleasing price. Still, the menu had some tasty looking dishes.
For my first course, I ordered the seafood au gratin, which was basically chunks of salmon and mussels swimming in a sea of pesto sauce. It was fantastic, especially coupled with the copious amount of fresh breads we were served.
My entree was a pasta dish with mushrooms in a creamy cheese sauce, topped with arugula and shaved parmesan. I also had a mixed salad with it, made with spinach leaves topped with a wonderful balsamic vinaigrette in an edible wonton bowl. Delicious, delicious, delicious!!!
And for dessert: Bread and butter pudding topped with vanilla bean ice cream. Absolutely incredible! :)
If you're in Dublin and don't mind shelling out a few extra euros for a great meal, pay Roly's a visit. And take fransglobal with you, he'll appreciate it. ;)
