Rollright Stones, United Kingdom

The Rollright Stones Sep 27, 2013
You can enter the area from the main road - there is a parking lot just next to the entrance. There is a £1 entrance fee to visit during daylight hours while it is free after dark. There is no guard so it is up to you to decide if your visit takes place before or after dusk.
There are a single stone on the other side of the street but the main sight is a small ring of stones called the kings men. It is made up by much smaller stones than other stone circles from the same approximate era. Compared to the big stone circle of Awebury this one is pretty tiny. But it is a nice sunny day when we get here and it is a quite area without too much sheep dung around. Hence unlike Awebury you want get to much nasty stuff on your shoes if you explore this little circle.
I probably wouldn’t go too far out of the way to get to this stone circle - but if you should be in the area visiting Great Tew or other places close by you should go and have a quick look at this small stone circle.
