Rokkaa Rotterdam Reviews
Trendy but affordable mediterranean restaurant Oct 20, 2010
I ended up here after I found one of their offers online, a 25% discount on a 3 course menu which normally isn't even expensive at all.
The owner is Turkish, and ofcourse the menu has Turkish inlfuences but also uses other flavours from around the mediterranean.
The staff is friendly and relaxed. The waiter knew exactly when he was needed and when not, which is a big plus for me.
The food then: it's definitely good, the portions are good, fresh vegetables, well prepared. Definitely great value for money.
Location: the Westelijk Handelelsterrein area is a warehousing complex built in the 1890s, it's 36 warehouses are spread over two floors and house mainly restaurants and galleries. Unfortunately Rokkaa is on the lower floor at the back which isn't the best place. The top floor has more restaurants and with its glass roof feels like an indoor cozy street. On the other hand the indoor of Rokkaa is trendy orange and black, and pretty small with about 30 seats which still gives it a cozy feel. Downside was that the lounge/jazzy music is not my style and it was a bit too loud.
3 course dinner of the day : € 27,50
Mains: between € 14,50 and 22,50
If you have a 'Rotterdampas' you'll get a 25% discount on the 3 course dinner.
Altogether a place well worth a try.
