The Rogner Hotel - In the Heart of Tirana May 02, 2017
Our stay at the excellent Rogner Hotel for the first 2 nights of our Balkans trip, was as all our accommodations were, included in our tour. The Rogner is relatively new having only been completed in 1995, but it already feels like a tried and true favorite. Some people may find this hotel lacks the character they prefer, but I thought it was just right for us in many respects.

The hotel has a modern feel without being sterile and impersonal. Our third floor room #335 had both a garden and pool view which was beautiful both day and night. It was very quiet except for the last night here when some guests were perhaps having too good of a time and were being much too loud in the Der Biergarten until after midnight! This would have been OK, except since there was no air-conditioning, our room was hot and we had to leave the window open to get any air.

Our smartly furnished room came with twin beds, a desk, mini-bar/fridge, flat screen TV, phone, WiFi, table and chair, safe, and coffee/tea-making facilities. The large bathroom came stocked with plenty of towels and toiletries, had a good shower, and plenty of hot water. If I had a complaint, it would only be that there seemed to be no air-conditioning, and that the beds had only bottom sheets, and no upper, but an incredibly thick duvet – great for winter, but Tirana was sunny and hot when we visited. So as comfortable as the beds themselves were, having no air-conditioning, with only a window open for air, plus the lack of a light cover made sleeping in the very warm room somewhat uncomfortable.

A large and varied buffet breakfast in the Apollonia Dining Room was included with our stay. There were hot and cold selections of all types, and you could order eggs and a few other offerings as you wished and have them delivered to your table. Coffee and tea were available from the waiters.

The 5-star Rogner amenities included a nice lobby bar, the Cafe Bar Pirro with lounge seating, the popular Der Biergarten outside, and a pool bar, Bubbles, and beyond the pool were tennis courts.

The one feature I wish I could have taken advantage of was the Spa and Hammam which had a nice variety of services at what I would consider great prices!

If your budget allows, I would highly recommend this hotel.

Holger, thanks for your visit and all the smiles! We were very happy staying at the Rogner with its excellent location; my only complaint that there was no Air-conditioning in our room that we could find, and it was very hot in Tirana.

Very interesting and detailed review. I am usually not in these kind of hotels, but wouldn't mind staying here either.

Rogner Hotel Europapark Overview

City Hotel amidst the greenery. Business hotel and garden hotel at the same time. Rogner Hotel Europapark – in a magnificent Mediterranean garden –an oasis of relaxation and rest in the heart of Albanian’s capital. Many people evaluate the hotel under Austrian Management because of the international standards in comfort and security. Others appreciate it because of it’s strategic location in the most beautiful boulevard of Tirana, which makes the hotel the meeting place of economy, diplomacy, culture and Albanian lifestyle. The seat of Parliament, President’s Office, Primes Minister’s Office and many important Embassies are in walking distance. For all customers that are keen on sports there is a tennis court that can be used throughout the year and a golf puttiing green. Further, the outside swimming pool tempts you to jump in and finally to visit Bubble’s Pool Bar. Whether in elegant premises or under palm trees. In Apollonia Restaurant with it’s wonderful garden terrace, we spoil you with delicacies from the Mediterranean, Albanian and Austrian cuisine. The Cafe-Bar Pirro is a meeting place also due to the traditional weekly live music events. Whether for business or tourism: enjoy and relax in the middle of the city but still in the middle of greenery. We would be pleased to organize a pick-up service from the airport Nene Tereza.
