Blue Jays game Aug 13, 2014
The Rogers Centre (Skydome) is perfect for baseball games especially when the dome is open. It's open whenever there is a 0% chance of rain. I recently attended a game at the Rogers Centre on Sunday August 10th. The Toronto Blue Jays won 6-5 against the Detroit Tigers. Very lively atmosphere and the stadium was packed! It's the perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

The only compliant I have is the cost of food and beverages. A can of beer is $10.25. It's pretty expensive compared to the cost of a beer from the Beer Store or LCBO. $10.25 compared to $2. But I guess it's like that at every stadium, not just the Rogers Centre.

I'll be visiting the Rogers Centre again on Monday August 25th and Sunday August 31st for two more Toronto Blue Jays games. The games are relatively cheap compared to other sports. $50 (for 100 level) vs. $100 for the same seats to a soccer (football) game.

Although baseball gets boring at times, the atmosphere of the stadium makes it worth going.

Retractable Dome! Aug 02, 2012
Located next to the CN Tower, the Rogers Centre, formally known as the Sky Dome is home to the Toronto Blue Jays, the baseball team and the Toronto Argonauts the football team. Opened in 1989 and hosts concerts, trade shows and conventions. The impressive stadium is also famous for its retractable roof. While guided tours are available, we did not have time to go on one. It is quite an impressive structure, I wish I could have watched a game.

Construction of the Rogers Centre began in 1986 and completed in 1989. The Blue Jays played their first game in 1989 when the stadium was opened. Rogers Centre hosts baseball as well as the Canadian Football League’s Toronto Argonauts. Because the movable dome, the lower stands are on rollers, and the Astroturf field rolls up, conversion from baseball to football takes only 10-12 hours. Opening or closing the roof takes about twenty minutes. The roof was closed during a game twice in the Blue Jays’ first year in the dome, and four or five times a year since then.

Rogers Centre Apr 19, 2009
Opening Day 2009. My second straight year of checking out a Tigers game. Got there early for BP. Nothing really hit close to me, but I was able to see a lot of the players and coaches up close. Sat in row 4 out in left field. Good seats, but you had to sit at an angle to see the batter. Toronto put on a great show. The stadium is amazing...too bad they play on turf. They show a lot of national pride with Canadian Flags everywhere. Cool video of past Toronto highlights. I swear I saw the Joe Carter home run video 20 times while I was there. Fans were loud and knowledgable. They heckled Detroit's LF Anderson. It was hilarious. It started off as 5 people chanting AAANNNDDDERRSOOOOON. Then the entire left field section chimed in. Hilarious. Anderson caught a ball and threw it to us. It was coming right to me, and at the last second someone else grabbed it. Oh man so close. Fun game, my Tigers got whooped. In the 8th as people got more drunk the game was delayed for 10 minutes because fans were throwing stuff on the field. They threw two baseballs at Anderson, and one came within a yard of him. The Tigers walked off the field. THen fans were throwing paper planes from upper deck and cheering them on as they landed. The fans stayed to the end and also did the wave at least 15 times. Great fans Ill tell ya. Overall fun time.

Rogers Center Oct 31, 2009
Home of the MLB Toronto Blue Jays and CFL Toronto Argo's. The NFL's Buffalo Bills also play a few games at Rogers Center each year. Rogers Center was one of the first retractable roof sports stadiums in North America when built. It's quickly becoming dated due to the large number of modern stadiums built over the past 15 years.
