Bike & Build provides young adults with the opportunity to participate in a cross-country bike trip across the US to raise awareness for affordable housing. My route cycled from Virginia Beach, VA to Cannon Beach, OR (5/15/08-7/25/08). Once a week, we traded our bikes in for hammers and helped with Habitat for Humanity or another affordable housing organization. It was, by far, the greatest travel experience I have ever had.

Seven states in three weeks.

Wyoming, Colorado, & New Mexico

Rode the Harley 5550 miles on a National Parks tour through Rocky Mountain, Dinosaur, Great Basin, Yosemite, Grand Canyon, and Monument Valley. Managed to see Lake Tahoe and the Mohave desert as well.

This was the best day of our trip and it's going to be mostly pictures, because I intend on adding a lot of them. A good friend transferred to Denver so a couple of us went to visit her. We crammed a ton into a four day weekend--Estes Park, Royal Gorge, 7 Falls and great food and drink. The best part was catching up with a good friend. But, I forgot how pretty Colorado is! I can't wait to go back!

As we travel along Trail Ridge Road just befor we got to Grand Lake, I saw through the trees a large shape. Could it be a Moose? We stop and walk into the trees very quiet. And yes there he is.

Since I am in Denver for an extended period of time without my wife, we decided that she should fly up so we could visit the beauty of Colorado. We got in the jeep and traveled to Colorado Springs, Garden of the Gods, Pikes Peak, Rocky Mountain National Park, and the Pike and Eisenhower National Forest. If you ever come, you have to travel down Hwy 7 from RMNP to Golden, CO. You will truly be blessed.

If you guys love nature, national parks and photographic excursions thats the 4 staates you can visit in a 3 week trip. Recomended Parks: Garden of the Gods, Colorado springs; Great Sand Dunes NP, Southern CO; Mesa Verde NP, Southern CO; Monument Valley, UT; Arches NP + Canyonlands NP, UT, Rocky Mountain NP, Northern CO

Who ever said it is a short leisure walk from Bear lake to Dream Lake... For me it was an eye opener as to how out of shape I am the 1.5 miles up the mountain in the thin air was a struggle.  But as you top the rise there, it is ,the most peaceful and quiet place I have seen in a long time.

I love where I grew up in Colorado Springs, CO. There is so much to do and see and I thought, I'd put a few pictures on here so people can see why I love my home! I also included a few pictures from around my beautiful state!
