The City of Rockalnd is located about 42 miles to the east of Augusta Maine the state capital and is located in Knox Coutny. Its main industry is comercial fishing and lobstering. Rockland harbor is protected by a mile long granite wall leading out to the lighthouse giving the harbor some prtoection for the boats that reside there.

The towns main street has retail shops, bars and resturaunts, banks and hotels. Rockland also is home to the Maine Lobster Festival and the North Atlantic Blues Festival wich take place during the summer months.

This leg took me across New Hampshire and Maine to the coast where I set up at the Elks Lodge in Rockland. A nice Lodge but with limited facilities for Rv parking. They had electric service but no water so I filled my tank and was all set. had some problems with my truck here and A nice guy from the Lodge hustled me into his car and drove me over to Cecil's garage. The Breakwater Light House

The Breakwater Lighthouse sits about 1 mile out into Rockland Harbor.  The mile long granit wall give the harbor ample protection during periods of rough seas.  It is an unmanned lighthouse and if you have time to kill on a nice day like I did today it makes for a nice walk.  A word of caution there are many holes and it is an uneven surface so if your not into that kind of thing you might want to enjoy it from the park on the shore.  However the sun was bright and sh...

So Becky and me went sight seeing all day today well not all day we did have to go on a few beer runs.  We stopped by the Farnsworth Art Museum Im not an artsy person but it was coo and there were some really cool things in there I couldnt take pictures of evrything because photography isnt allowed in most of the buildings.  Then off to the local food store for some beer and then off to subway for lunch and back to the food store for some Liquer.  After all of that it was time ...
