Robertsport Overview

Robertsport, also known as Roberts Port and Robert's Port, is a town in western Liberia, about 10 miles from the Sierra Leone border. It is named after Joseph Jenkins Roberts, the first president of Liberia.

The town lies on Cape Mount peninsula, and is separated from the mainland by Lake Piso. It serves as the capital of Grand Cape Mount County. Robert sport is located 50 km north of Monrovia, Liberia's capital city. From Monrovia it is about a 2-3 hour journey. The last hour along a poor gravel road.

It is popular with NGO's and expats as a weekend retreat and with surfers as the sea serves up barrel waves. There are a few beaches huts that can be rented out for your stay.

Robertsport's small town still bears the scars of the recent civil war and looks run down and in need of renovation and rejuvenation .
