Nice family campground Jun 27, 2008
Robert Service Campground was a must stay for us seeing as it was named after a poet who wrote about the same places we were about to venture in to! The campground has a great location. It's a 15 minute walk from town (probably 1.5km away) and is located right by the Millennium trail which goes along the Yukon river.

There isn't much privacy as the trees are sparce but there's tons of room for kids to run around. There's internet and showers available at a fee. They also have a small shop where they sell snacks, coffee, and ice cream. I enjoyed the dishwater station. And they have a book exchange!

Make sure to reserve ahead as they are quite busy. They only have tent sites which means there are no big RV's blocking the view. Their website has a map of the campground so you can tell them which campsite you'd prefer (no guarantee on what you'll get though). It was $16/night for a tent.

Finally back in Canada
Though it amazing to see Alaska and the landscapes are truly beautiful, there's something that no Canadian ever takes for granted - going back to Canada after being out of the country. The drive from…Whitehorse adn made our way to the Robert Service Campground. It's a very quaint and nicely set up campground
