Römerplatz Frankfurt am Main Reviews
My favorite place in Frankfurt Jun 06, 2007
The Römerplatz is a square in Frankfurt and is may be the most important landmark of the city. It is called so because of the Römer. The medieval building that has been City Hall (Rathaus) for about 600 years.
From there we could see the contrast between the modern Frankfurter skyscrapers (Frankfurt is even called “The Manhattan of Europe”) and the medieval typical germen buildings. All strictly timber framed like only Germans can do. Even the Frankfurt Cathedral can be seen from there.
Most of the buildings are reconstructions, because many of them got destroyed through the Second World War.
In the middle of the square is located a statue of Lady Justice.
This is the place I liked at most in Frankfurt.
