So in 2004 I went over to Xiamen, China in the Fujian Province of China to visit family. while there my Aunt told me there was a new hot springs at a local hotel, called the Riyuegu, she wanted to go to. So we headed out. The hours we went to were from 10-4...there's 2 different packages, the other is after 4. And we checked in. the hot springs cost us $12.50 in US dollars for the whole day, which translates to about 109 RMB (RMB is the chinese denomination for money). This is a five star (a real non-Chinese five star) hotel resort that features this ‘over thirty’ different herbal flavored outdoor hot springs theme park. There's a milk bath, coconut milk bath, beer bath, red or white wine bath, and a whole bunch of tea baths which ranged from aloe vera to rose petal to green tea. All pools were tastefully secluded from each other allowing for private enjoyment.

There is also a message area; which costs extra--but about $5 for a half hour. The massage is performed with you lying on top of a giant stone slab that is heated by hot spring water underneath. It was a fantastic experience! You can also get facials and ear wax picked out of your ear. All relaxed you very much.

The one are that I think could've been different is the food...apparently there are 2 large scale restaurants there but we ate in the eatery in the spa...which was a mistake. The food was bland and nothing was heated it was all cold and raw.

If you do stay at the hotel one night in their five star room with free breakfast and unlimited in room hot spring and outdoor hot spring is around 500 RMB---in US money that is around $58 US dollars! Where in the US can you stay at a 5 star hotel with all the trimmings for under one hundred dollars?

That sounds like a really, nice inexpensive place.
