Movie-themed Hostel Mar 26, 2011
The staff at Rivoli Cinema Hostel really show how much they care through throwing social events for guests, telling them the best spots in the area, 24-hour security, clean facilities, and even free popcorn for guests. They have free computers for guests, an extensive movie collection, and the place is modernly decorated. I felt at home from the first moment I got there and loved the cinema theme. I stayed in the "Pulp Fiction" room, but there are many more themes as well. If you go to Oporto, stay here!

Best Hostel Ever! Oct 05, 2010
Really the best Hostel I've ever been to, and I've been to a lot. It's really clean, very well located and affordable. You can walk everywhere from there. The breakfast is great and there a magnificent terrasse on the top of the building. Just loved it!

Hostel that makes you feel like home Nov 20, 2010
I chose this hostel for its highest ratings. It was really a good choice. The hostel is situated in the center of Porto...you can walk to many sights. The hostel itself is very cozy and makes you feel like home. There was a common room where we had breakfast, you could watch TV there or surf the web. And every evening there was some special event, serving some food or drinks at special prices...it was perfect for meeting new people. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

The kitchen was clean and fully equipped. The only thing that really bothered me were crunchy beds. I also expected better selection of food for breakfast.

great hostel!!! portugal is turning out to be top notch for hostels!! this hostel was in a great location, very close to the subway stations, easy to find, and a short walk from the water's edge. also a bus stop right across the street to take you wherever, and a short walk up the road to a shopping district.

the hostel is movie themed - every room has its own theme. i was in the spielberg room, which really was just a couple E.T. posters, but nonetheless very cool. really nice complete with hardwood floors and old fashioned windows - which i could actually open and let in fresh air. the hostel was brand new and thoroughly IKEA furnished from head to toe!

staff was super nice - spent a rainy day hanging with them talking and playing cards most of the time. the living area is comfy complete with bean bags, couches, tv, dvds, and books. each floor has its own small kitchen area with a big dining area, a common area, and bathrooms. great free breakfast, very clean, and overall very nice atmosphere. i don't recall any scheduled group activities, however there was a good group of people there and we just enjoyed hanging out together. i would definitely stay there again.
