Cheap place to stay in NYC Jul 27, 2008
Cheap accommodation is hard to find in Manhattan.
The Riverside Studios Hotel is one of the cheapest 'proper' hotels you can find in the Upper West Side. Situated a stone's throw from the 72nd st subway station and Central Park, this hotel offers an excellent base to explore New York from. The hotel is situated in a beautiful classic building, with a well-maintained entrance. The care does not extend beyond its façade through, as the reception area is an unwelcoming drab. Beyond the rickety elevator and dark corridors are reasonably well-maintained rooms though. The rooms are small, but complete with all amenities like fridge, airco and TV. Bathrooms are shared, but there are enough of them to prevent long queues in the morning. There is no breakfast or anything offered, but this being New York that shouldn't be any problem.
