Riverfront Wilmington Reviews
Along Wilmington's Christina River Jul 25, 2015
Riverfront Wilmington is a development area fronting on the Christina River in downtown Wilmington. The area was formerly an industrial zone, but has been redeveloped as an urban park and location for restaurants and attractions. We enjoyed dinner at Big Fish on the Riverfront (separate review). Several other restaurants are also nearby to choose from. In addition to dining, the Delaware Center for Contemporary Art, Delaware There Company, Delaware Children's Museum, OperaDelaware and Frawley Stadium entertainment venues are located here. While we walked along the Riverwalk, we could hear a Wilmington Blue Rocks baseball game going on at the stadium. The Wilmington Riverfront was definitely a popular place to dine or promenade on a Saturday evening.
The Riverwalk, a 1.3 mile (2.1 km) pathway for walking and jogging, connects the various elements of the Riverfront. The path begins at the Tubman-Garret Riverfront Park and continues to the Russell Peterson Wildlife Refuge.
