River View Guesthouse
River View Guesthouse Reviews
Clean, welcoming and atmospheric Nov 05, 2009
River view is a stunning little place with lovely owners. We arrived mid afternoon to be welcomed with a cold drink and given a complete guide to Melaka - a perfect orientation.
The Guesthouse is located in the historic commercial district, surrounded by bustling Chinese businesses and shops. Melaka is very compact so you're no more than a few minutes' walk from major attractions, but if you just want to chill then the rear of the guesthouse has a great balcony overlooking the river to relax and watch the world go by. The owners, Mani and Raymond, are very welcoming and a mine of great information on the town. There was both wifi and a laptop made available for guests to use. I think it was shared bathrooms only - they're are a little compact, but spotlessly clean. Highly, highly recommended. Great place to meet other travellers - on our second night there the owners took almost the entire house out for a great meal at the famous Capitol Satay. If you're looking for an inexpensive place with great service and a good vibe, then River View will do you. Enjoy...
